Kilkhampton
Bible Christian and Wesleyan Methodist Circuits
The map shows the general area of Cornwall and Devon in from where these two circuits drew their congregations.
Some parishes had no established chapels for either circuit, others had more than one either concurrently or following each other. For example, Morwenstow has 8 buildings that have been chapels at one time and up to 4 BC chapels at the same time and 3 Wesleyans. Today it has one former Wesleyan (at Shop) and one former Bible Christian at Woodford. Both now, since 1935, part of the combined Wesleyan Methodist circuit.
If you cannot find your ancestors in the Registers belonging to the Church of England in the relevant parish, they may have been non-conformists
More detailed information on each circuit is available on other pages.
