The church was completed in June 1914 to replace the old building in Woodford (Woodford Wesleyan Chapel). It was originally known as Shop Wesleyan Chapel but acquired its present title in the Methodist amalgamations of 1932 and continues to the present day.

The graveyard has been tidied up by removal of all kerbstones but no re-locations have taken place. All burials are recorded in the same book as were the burials of Woodford Wesleyan Chapel which gives name, reference number and letter keyed to a sketch map.

This shows five rows of plots lettered from West to East "A" to "E" with allocations for up to 32 burials in each row. Generally about half the spaces have been taken up.

Since my original recording of 1982, there have been more burials which do not conform to the book. I decided not to include it here as it would only serve to confuse.

A sketchmap has been prepared which locates all gravestones and indicates some otherwise unmarked graves There are 197 inscriptions recorded ranging from 1864 to the present day. Both church and graveyard are still in use.

The original recording was completed in 1982 but has since been updated in 2001.

Today there are 65 burials ranging from 1916 to the present day.
